A Fresh Start for 2021

Is anyone else ready for 2021? Is that a silly question?!! Now we know that just because the calendar turns to a new year that things don’t magically change, however, there is just something about that new year, new month, new day, that feels exciting, full of possibility and fresh starts. Our team spent some time reflecting on this past year and planning resolutions/goals/hopes for the year to come.

We are also sharing some products and tools to help give you a fresh start to 2021! These are some of our favorite go-to products in the health, self-care and wellness categories. We hope you find one or two that you can incorporate into 2021 that will have you feeling inspired and cared for!

Happy New Year from the LGD team! We wish you a happy, and healthy year ahead!

Reflections & Resolutions

Lexi:

This past year has brought a lot of things… change, fear, hope, learning, leaning into the uncomfortable, speaking up, fighting hard, rest, laughter, togetherness, prayer and growth. As much as I long for some of the normalcy, routine, and traditions of the years past to return again soon, I am thankful for the needed changes that 2020 has brought about. As far as resolutions and goals… Sticking with the normal! Eat healthier, find time to exercise and move my body, travel, journal, rest… and adding in.. be intentional with my time by putting away the distractions, by creating habits that allow me to disconnect from all the things when I am with my family, so that I can be just with my family, fully present for my kiddos… because I just can’t figure out how another year has gone by!

Toni:

Wow, 2020. So many emotions… the ones I want to last are those sweet moments of togetherness that were a direct result of the times we were living through. The time we were forced to take, to stop and to breath and reevaluate. And all the new experiences that caused me to see life in a new light. For that, I am thankful for 2020. As we look to 2021 I am hesitant to make any “plans” or “resolutions” but just desire to walk into the new year with a hopeful heart. To try harder to look around me at what is right in front of me each day instead of always looking forward to what is ahead. I don’t want to miss a minute of right now.

April:

Looking back, we had set aside 2020 to accomplish some big personal goals. God had a different story to write. While we didn't get more fit (hello, quarantine bod! Pass the bread and cheese!), and we didn't travel anywhere (boohoo to cancelled plans!), what we did accomplish was unexpectedly beautiful. Our family of 4 has never been closer and we enjoy one another's company more than ever. We started a child into Kindergarten and despite the pandemic he loves school and learning. We deepened our relationships with close friends despite physical distancing, and we pressed in to social justice like we haven't ever before. 2020 was VASTLY different than we planned, but grew us in amazing ways. For 2021 we resolve to continue growing in the ways 2020 has stretched us... and maybe get slightly more fit ;)

Ally:

Looking back on 2020, I can’t help but be thankful for my health and the health of my family. Covid sure threw us a curve ball but we are closer and more grateful than ever! Going into 2021, I hope to focus even more on my health and wellbeing. I also am looking forward to meeting my baby boy in April and plan to shower him with love every moment of every day! We as a family have so much to look forward to in 2021 and just can’t wait!

Maggie:

2020 was certainly not the year I expected or hoped for, but still came with some valuable lessons and great changes. In 2021, I hope to be able to travel, read more books, and detox a bit from social media. Oh, and drink more water!

Libbie:

At the start of a new year, I always “title” my year ahead, picking a phrase or a saying that aligns with my goals and ambition for the new year. But here we are, nearing the end of 2020 and I truly was at a loss for the entirety of it on how to title such a year. Even before it began, I knew 2020 was going to be a year chalked full of change and unknowns....I was graduating college, trying to decide where to move, where to live, what kind of career I wanted to pursue...so when March rolled around and college came to an end in the blink of an eye due to the pandemic, I found myself back home in Montana for 6 months. Reflecting on those 6 months at home, I am so THANKFUL for that time. A time to rest, a time to grow, an opportunity to refocus myself, and most importantly time to spend with my family in a home and place I love so much. What a blessing 2020 turned out to be! I think my biggest learning point was to simply “go with it”, trusting that God’s plan and timing was and is perfect for me. My goal for 2021 remains the same; Just go with it, allowing myself the openness to both see and grasp unexpected and or unplanned opportunities that have been placed right in front of me and leaning in faithfully to all that my cross my path.

Jenna:

How has 2020 already gone by, I am in disbelief that we are about to transition into a new year. I typically have similar resolutions for myself each year, but in 2021, I really hope I make them happen, no matter what 2021 looks like, we learned that in 2020, that things can be unpredictable. My main resolutions would be to connect myself as best as I can to my husband, love my friends well, appreciate and take care of my health and body, take in content and words that are good for my mind and soul, and spend more of my time doing the things that bring me joy!
