A Simple Thanksgiving Tablescape

We are officially in the year’s most joyful and busy season! Menu planning, gift shopping, decorating, and sneaking treats from the holiday baking stash (guilty!) are all underway, on top of your normal day-to-day duties. And while this year is different in so many ways, we’re still committed to making our holiday tables a beautiful place to gather, even if our groups are smaller than usual. If you’re knee deep in stuffing and pie and need a little help putting together your table, we’ve put together a tablescape for you with quick shoppable links so everything can come delivered to your door. Count us thankful for online shopping!

Amongst all the craziness this year has brought, we were feeling drawn to a simple tablescape, using mostly items we (and you!) likely already own. A beautiful and minimal Thanksgiving table feels like the prefect setup this year; you just need to tie it all together with some finishing touches!

Start with the necessities when it comes to your table, and then build out from there. Arrange your plates, bowls, silverware and glassware on the table at each place setting. Target and World Market have some of our favorite stoneware & flatware sets for affordable prices. After this, choose your napkin (cloth is always our preference; it’s elegant and earth-friendly) and try out a couple of different folds. Keeping the fold simple lends to a relaxed, easy-going look that will encourage everyone to dig right in! To finish the place setting, we dried some oranges in the oven––plan ahead for this, it takes some time––and placed them on top of the napkin with a sprig of spare greens for a special touch.

Once your place settings are complete, layer in your larger decor pieces on the table, such as these two stunning vases (we picked these up at a market and linked similar ones below) and add a few large fairytale pumpkins from Trader Joes. You might feel silly having full sized pumpkins on the table, but trust us - playing with scale is one way to instantly elevate your look. To our decorative vases we added eucalyptus stems and a bunch or two of mini white daisies, which are easy to find at any grocery store, no florist necessary. These greens were the subtle, muted pop of color the table needed!

To finish off the table we scattered in some small dishes filled with black peppercorns and pink Himalayan salt, a few candlesticks, a bowl of mini pumpkins and stacked dishes ready for serving up a tasty meal. For a cozy touch, we threw some blankets over the backs of the chairs, in hopes that we might get some cooler temps here in AZ!

A beautiful holiday table doesn’t have to be complicated or expensive. Use what you have and add in a few special touches. If you’d like to use what we did, you can shop the links below.
